Chaparral Pines is a
Firewise Certified Community
Chaparral Pines is a Firewise Certified Community, demonstrating a strong commitment to fire prevention. Ongoing efforts are made to ensure that every property is well maintained and that fire safety remains a top priority.
Residents are required to stay proactive when it comes to firewising. Educational workshops are held periodically offering guidance on how best to firewise, volunteers help execute various firewise projects throughout the community, and emergency evacuation plans are available should an evacuation become necessary. This spirit of cooperation not only strengthens our defenses but also helps foster a close-knit, caring environment. At Chaparral Pines, peace of mind extends beyond the gates—it's woven into the fabric of daily life.

Firewise Evaluation
We live in a community that has a high fire danger. In 2018, Chaparral Pines adopted the regulation that all properties must be Firewise compliant according to Arizona Department of Forestry Standards.
The Firewise Committee performs regular evaluations throughout the community giving all owners the framework to know what the evaluators are looking for as far as fire dangers in our community. Evaluators review all properties on a rotating schedule and share their findings with homeowners.
-
Firewise Evaluation Permission
Firewise Committee evaluators are all volunteers that own homes in Chaparral Pines and have desire for our community to be increasingly fire safe but before they evaluate a homeowner property, we ask homeowners to approve and be aware of their presence. All evaluators have been trained by the Arizona Department of Forestry

Community Sweat Equity Credit
Chaparral Pines Community Association documents all efforts being made to “Firewise” Chaparral Pines. To help the Firewise Committee reach its annual goals, including hours needed to renew our Firewise Community Certification; we ask homeowners to document their firewising efforts. The HOA also applies for grant money, when available, to educate our community and assist with hazardous fuel removal from our area. Grants require that we generate matching funds through related expenses and record what individual property owners have expended. You can help both endeavors by recording the time and expenses you have spent on your property to provide defensible space around your home.
Record your personal time:
Pruning and clearing of brush and debris
Traveling to brush pits
Meetings with contractorsYou may also record your personal expenses including:
Equipment rental
Contractual services
Supplies
Dump fees -
Evacuation Emergency
With recent wildfires in Arizona, and with the continued potential of dangerous fire seasons in our area, the Chaparral Pines Board of Directors felt it was necessary to have an Evacuation Plan available to homeowners. Please keep in mind, in the event emergency evacuations become necessary, local and state emergency crews will be in charge of all evacuations, regardless of what evacuation plans we have in place.
